My Pomsky will not let me cut her nails. Even with 2 of us it is impossible! Tried the super quiet grinder, no way was that happening. As a last resort we bought this scratch pad. After 15 minutes of fun her nails are great! No more clicking on the floor.

Did you know that long nails can hurt your dog?
They can change the way your dog walks and cause discomfort.
FAQs
Questions & Answers
What about the back legs?
The back nails usually wear down naturally during daily walks.
By keeping the front nails short and well-maintained, you’re addressing the most important issue: pressure, posture, and discomfort caused by uneven weight distribution.
The front paws carry most of your dog’s body weight. They grow faster and take the most impact, which is why they need more frequent maintenance.
If you ever need to trim the back nails occasionally, it will be much less frequent and much easier than struggling with all four paws from the start.
Can it damage the pads?
The main contact occurs at thetip of the nail, not on the pad, and there are no forced movements: Your dog scratches at their own pace, for a few minutes, voluntarily.
When used correctly and under supervision,it does not affect the pads. In fact, it ismuch gentlerthan holding the leg and cutting by force.
Is it safer than cutting?
Yes. Sincethere is no direct cut, youavoid the riskof cutting too much or hitting the quick. It’s amore gradualandless stressfulalternative, especially for nervous dogs.
Does it fit all sizes?
Yes. It is designed to work on small, medium and large dogs.
The filing surface is resistant and effective regardless of the size of the nail.
Is it easy to clean?
Absolutely. It is designed for practical and repeated use. Simply remove any leftover treats and clean the surface with a damp cloth if needed.

Logan C.Verified BuyerIt’s amazing for my crazy pittie girl!! We have to work with her slowly but it’s super effective and no stress. She loves her new job!! You do have to hold it for a strong dog. She paws and she gets a treat. Very fun and nobody is crying!!

Piper G.Verified BuyerAfter 1 week, I would give it 5 stars. My dog is reactive and one of his triggers is his paws being touched. I have worked my way up over the years to do his nails myself, in lieu if sedation at the vet, but i still sometimes only get 2-3 nails done before he starts to show signs of being anxious and we have to stop. This nail file definitely files his nails down and he 100% thinks its a game. He gets really excited when I go get it and he's wagging his tail the entire time. We're still building up to multiple paw swipes at a time, but I think this is a great alternative for us!

Lauren G.Verified BuyerI used to be scared of hurting him. With this, I feel so much more relaxed since there’s no sudden clipping.

Clare G.Verified BuyerI can’t explain how much stress this took off my shoulders!! Nail trims were always a fight. I was scared of hurting him and he was scared of the clippers. Now he just scratches, gets his treats, and we’re done.

Elaine R.Verified BuyerEasy to train our puppies to use. Now they vigorously scratch 2-3 times, and get a little treat. They love it! Only works for the front claws, but that is what we needed. When I trimmed the front claws with clippers, they were worse! ha ha. Like little half-moon scratchy claws. This helps smooth them out nicely. The puppies do not like me buffing their claws, but they LOVE scratching on this to get a treat. Having the hidden treat compartment really helps my little girls.

Loni R.Verified BuyerI honestly didn’t think he would use it. He ignores most “interactive” stuff I buy. But once I put a few of his favorite treats inside, he figured it out within minutes. Now he goes to it on his own.

Shelley MVerified BuyerFinally I can shorten my dog’s nails without worrying about nicking him! He is food-motivated so he likes it when we play with this. Sometimes he only half-heartedly scratches but it still wears them down! It’s rough like 80 grit sandpaper and you can buy refills that stick on over the older surface when it gets worn off. Totally worth it!

Amy S.Verified BuyerI was always terrified of cutting the quick by accident... I’ve made her bleed once before and I still feel guilty about it. This takes that fear away completely. It files gradually, so there’s no sudden mistake.

Lauren R.Verified BuyerLove this!! I bought one with a slide tray which is perfect for my small 18lb skinny mini doodle. I turn around for the 40lb doodles as they don't need the tray and push the tray off the track. This took 20 minutes per dog to train them to use it. I now can just point and tell them to scratch and they go at it! We used it 4 times this week and they are now super excited when I get the board out as they know they get treats. Their nails have never been so short.
